Uploading Your Music and Beyond
Want to know how to get your music heard? All it takes is a simple upload to 2crank, with a short description about your song. After that, your track will be part of the global 2crank music library, available for anyone to download.
- Whenever you have a new track to upload, log in to 2crank.com.
- Under 'What Would You Like To Do Now?', select 'Upload A Song'.
- Once there, fill in the details of your song, then click browse and select the file that you want to upload.
- Please note that the maximum size for ALL song uploads is limited to 7MB and below. Do ensure that your song is within that limit to prevent difficulties while uploading.
- Once that's done, select the sample that you would like to make available to the public. You have 60 seconds to showcase your song, so make them count!
- Finally, ascertain that everything is in order (song name, file, etc.), click 'Confirm' and you're good to go.
Once your track has been uploaded, there's more that you can do to get it heard.
- Get more involved in the 2crank community - make friends, comment on others' pages- to get more people to visit your page in turn.
- Get your friends to 2crank.com, and have them rate your track to push the ratings higher. Highly rated songs have a better chance of being downloaded.
- Keep keywords and tags relevant to people who would be interested in your style of music. You can continue to edit information such as the description, tags and related video link after upload.
Finding New Music
2crank is not just about uploading your own music, but about having the fun of discovering new music from independent artistes worldwide. So here are some tips and tricks on the best ways to find brand new tracks that might just offer up some fresh perspectives on how you enjoy music.
- Make sure you always check out 'What's New' on 2crank to get updated on the latest happenings and last month's top voted artist/music.
- Keep tabs on the most downloaded tracks, most highly rated and top voted artists and music to see who's making waves on the 2crank scene.
- Browse through the extensive 2crank directory of music and artistes to check out who might be producing sounds and music that you might be interested in. Sort using genre or keywords and start discovering new music today.
- Once you've found artistes that you're interested in, check out their other fans or who they're fans of to view people who share the same musical tastes as you. The possibilities are endless!
2crank Currency
What is 2crank Currency?
2Crank Currency is what you will be using to obtain all your music from 2crank, as well as what you will be using to upload your tracks to the portal. All transactions that take place within 2crank will be using 2crank Credit. There are two types of 2crank Currency:
- 2crank Credit/ USD - What you will be using to upload and download tracks, indicated by 'You have 100 USD of 2crank credit.' in the upper right corner of the screen.
- 2crank Cash - Obtained whenever another user purchases your tracks. This can either be used to top up for more 2crank credit or be cashed out.
How do I get 2crank Credit?
Clicking on the 'Top Up 2crank Credit' banner on either the home page or your profile page will take you to the top up page. From there, it's just a matter of filling in necessary information for your chosen payment method whether it is through Paypal, credit cards or online banking. The amount of credit available for purchase ranges from 5 USD- 200 USD, so that you can keep uploading or downloading as many songs as you like.
How do I use 2crank Credit?
Every time you choose to upload a track, 2crank credit will be deducted from your account. Additionally, once 2crank Credit has been topped up, it can no longer be converted back out into cash, but can be used to enjoy all of 2crank's services and features.
How do I get and use 2crank Cash?
2crank Cash will be credited into your account every time someone purchases a track that you have uploaded. These Cash can then be converted into top-ups for 2crank Credit or left in your account until it is automatically debited out every 3 months or at a specific time of your setting.
Why do I need to provide my bank account details?
The action 'Create Your Revenue Account' on your main profile page will enable you to provide bank details in which the payment would be made. Please bear in mind that this section will be for cash-out transactions only, not for topping up.
While 2crank will make every effort to expedite all payments in a punctual fashion, actual date of payment will be dependent upon the discretion and timeliness of the banks or financial parties involved.
Creating Your Revenue Account
- Once you've uploaded music onto 2crank and other users start downloading your music, you will receive 2crank Cash whenever someone purchases a track. This 2crank Cash will then be paid out in quarterly installments to the Revenue Account of your choice.
- You need to create this Revenue Account by choosing the avenue of payment you would prefer: either through a bank account or Paypal, as we can accommodate both methods. Once you've chosen your preferred financial institution or method, simply fill out the details indicated in the empty fields. If you require any further clarification, mouse over the question mark icon at the side of the fields for explanation as to what these fields are and where you may find this information.
- Once you've set your revenue account, payments will begin being made every quarter if your account has reached a minimum of 25 2crank Cash by the end of that period. If you would like to change these payment details at any time, click on the 'Edit Your Revenue Account' link available on your profile page and edit all relevant details.

I've lost my password. What now?
On the log-in page, click the 'Forgot Your Password?' button, and then fill in your email address and username. An email will be sent to you shortly, containing a link that will direct you to a page in which you can enter your new password.
I would like to change my band name. How can I do this?
Your band name is your displayed profile name and can be changed at any time within your public profile settings within My 2crank. Your username is what is used for your log in, is separate from your profile name, and cannot be changed.
How do I upload my songs?
Your first two uploads will be for free, and for a complete guide to uploading songs, refer to Uploading Your Music and Beyond.
For all subsequent uploads, make sure you have enough credit to get your music out there. To find out more about 2crank credit, refer to 2crank Currency.
Will my music be safe once it's uploaded onto 2crank?
2crank practices a strict privacy policy and do everything within our power to ensure that your work is safe and remains private, aside from the public 30-second sample available within the site. Any reported or discovered breach of conduct will be treated with the utmost seriousness.
How secure are my transactions on 2crank?
2crank goes to great lengths to ensure that all transactions that happen within the site are entirely secure and private. All transactions, especially pertaining to the cashing out of 2crank Cash and the topping up of 2crank Credit are strictly monitored. It is your responsibility, however, to ensure that all personal information remains entirely confidential to maintain security.
Why are all transactions in USD?
As many users of 2crank are from many different parts of the world, the simplest and most globally known currency is US Dollars. However, we have endeavoured to ensure that any process involving money and 2crank Currency are simple to understand and easily convertible no matter where in the world you may come from.
Can I change any details once I've uploaded a song?
For security reasons, not all song details will be up for change. However, some song details may be edited for no additional cost to the user. These details include: genre, description, tags as well as the video link. Song name and the song file cannot be changed, so if you would like to change these details, it is recommended that you upload a new file and add it to your song listings.
Will it cost me any 2crank credit to post a classifieds ad?
No, it is a free service.
I would like to post a classifieds ad. Do I need to be a 2crank member to do this?
Yes, this service is not available for non-members, who can however, look through the posted ads. Becoming a 2crank member would allow you to not only post your classifieds, but keep track and edit your posted items, along with enjoying all other 2crank services.
Can I upload more than one video to my profile page?
Unfortunately, at this time, only one video per profile page is permitted, for the focus to be primarily on the music available from your band. However, this video can be replaced without cost whenever a new video is available, to keep your profile page updated.
